Stir Fry Broccoli and Mushroom “Tumis Brokoli dan Jamur” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Many ways to make vegetarian dish taste good, one if them is using mushrooms. Here is my recipe for simple vegetarian dish: Str Fry Broccoli and Mushrooms.

(Teman-teman, ini masakan yang aku masak barusan buat makan siang di hari bebas makan daging alias hari vegetarian. Campuran brokoli dan jamur sedap banget. Layak dicoba, yuk bikin juga.)

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of broccoli –> cut per clusters (brokoli –> potong sesuai rumpun)
  • 100 grams of champignon mushrooms –> sliced (jamur champignon –> iris)
  • 3 stalks of celery –> cut chunks (seledri besar –> potong)
  • 1 tomato –> sliced (tomat segar –> iris)
  • 1 onion –> chopped (bawang bombay –> potong dadu kecil)
  • 3 garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprak)
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce (saus tiram)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica)
  • some sugar (gula pasir sesuai selera)
  • 150 ml of hot/ boiling water (air mendidih)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil (minyak wijen)
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)
  • 3 tablespoons of water (air) + 1 tablespoon of potato/ corn starch (maizena)

Steps:

  1. Soak the broccoli in salt water (1 liter of water + 1 teaspoon of salt) for 30 minutes, to clean it from any issues like worms, dirt, etc. (Rendam potongan brokoli dalam air garam (air putih 1 liter + I sendok the garam) selama 30 menit untuk membantu membersihkan brokoli dari cacing atau kotoran yang menempel.)
  2. Heat big pan on HIGH. Pour in vegetable oil and stir-fry the garlic and onion until fragrant. Put in the broccoli and celery and cook for seconds. (Panaskan wajan besar dengan api BESAR. Tuang minyak sayur dan tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum. Masukkan broccoli dan seledri besar dan aduk rata selama beberapa detik saja.)
  3. Season with soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt and pepper and sugar. Then, pour in the hot water. Bring it to boil. Directly, pour in the starch water little by little while keep on stirring the stock until you reach thickness consistency you want. (Bumbui dengan kecap asin, saus tiram, garam dan merica dan gula sesuai selera. Tuang air panas dan masak hingga mendidih. Langsung tuang perlahan campuran air dan maizena sambil terus diaduk hingga mencapai kekentalan yang diinginkan.)
  4. Put in the tomato and pour in sesame oil to the pan and stir quickly for seconds. Take the pan off the stove. Move the dish onto big plate. Serve immediately. (Masukkan tomat dan tuang minyak wijen dalam wajan dan aduk cepat selama beberapa detik. Angkat wajan dari api dan segera pindahkan hidangan diatas sebuah piring/ pinggan. Sajikan segera.)
