Stir Fry Shrimp and Celery (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Here is one my my kid’s fave food when we went visit Chinese restaurant, super simple dish of shrimps and celery. The fragrance of the celery blends with the savor of the shrimps. Super hard to forget! Here is the recipe for it.

(Teman-teman, nambahin resep udang yang udah ada ya, kali ini aku coba masak tumis udang pake batang seleri yang besar (celery), biasanya seledri orang bule memang bentuknya kayak batang gede gitu, biasanya buat bahan pembuat sop juga. Rupanya ditumis sama udang mantap banget. Ini ya resep gampangnya.)

Ingredients:

  • 350 grams of shrimps (udang)
  • 4 stalks of celery –> cut chunks (seledri besar –> potong kotak)
  • 3 garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprak)
  • 1 onion –> chopped (bawang bombay –> potong dadu)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica)
  • some sugar (gula pasir sesuai selera)
  • 2 tablespoons of oil (minyak sayur)
  • 2 Thai chili (optional)–> chopped (cabe rawit sesuai selera)
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce (saus tiram)

Steps:

  1. Heat a pan on HIGH (Panaskan wajan dengan api BESAR)
  2. Pour in oil and stir fry garlic and onion until fragrant. (Masukkan minyak dan tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum.)
  3. Put in the celery and stir fry for 1 minute. (Masukkan batang seledri dan tumis selama 1 menit.)
  4. Put in the chili pepper and shrimps and mix well. Season with oyster sauce, salt pepper and sugar. Cook until the shrimp cooked well. (Masukkan cabe dan udang lulu bumbui dengan saus tiram, garam, merica dan gula secukupnya. Masak hingga udang matang.)
  5. Serve warm. (Sajikan hangat)
