White Rice Mount “Tumpeng Nasi Santan” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

I cook this White Rice Mount in rice cooker. And I didn’t have the rice mount mould so I used Frosting Piping Bag for it. (Membuat Nasi Santan dengan Rice Cooker)

Tumpeng Nasi Santan

Ingredients:

  • 1 litre of white rice (beras putih)
  • 200 ml of glutinous rice (beras ketan)
  • 400 ml coconut milk (santan segar)
  • 2 medium lemongrass (serai/sereh)
  • 2 bay leaves (daun salam)
  • 3 cloves of garlic (bawang putih)
  • 3 cloves of shallots (bawang merah)
  • salt (garam)
  • Large Frosting/ Cream Piping Bag (kantong penyemprot butter cream/ boleh juga gunakan cetakan kerucut untuk tumpeng)

Steps:

  1. Blend and mince together garlic and shallots. Bash the lemon grass and cut onto halves. (Haluskan bersama bawang putih, bawang merah. Geprak serai/sereh dan potong menjadi dua bagian.)
  2. Wash together white rice and glutinous rice. Drain well. (Cuci bersih beras dan beras ketan. Buang airnya.)
  3. Put the blended garlic, shallot, and turmeric on the base of the rice cooker pot. Place in the rice and glutinous rice on top of it. pour in the coconut milk. (Masukkan bumbu halls kedalam rice cooker dan masukkan beras dan ketan. Tuangkan santannya.)
  4. Put in the salt, bay leaves and lemongrass. Mix everything well. Cook the rice following rice cooker instruction. (Masukkan daun salam dan serai/ sereh serta garam secukupnya. Aduk rata dan masak dengan rice cooker sesuai petunjuk penggunaan.)
  5. After it is cooked. Leave it for 30 minutes on warm mode. (Setelah matang, biarkan nasi kuning dalam rice cooker dalam keadaan WARM/HANGAT selama 30 menit.)
  6. Prepare the piping bag, Fill 1/3 part of it with the rice, then press the rice tight to form the shape. Fill with the following rice and press again. Put the last 1/3 part of the rice and press again. (Siapkan cetakan tumpeng/ kerucut dan masukkan 1/3 nasi dalam cetakan, tekan tekan rata dan masukkan lagi 1/3 bagian nasi kedalam lagi, tekan tekan lagi, terakhir masukkan sisa nasi dan tekan tekan rapat lagi.)
  7. Place upside down the piping bag on the center of the giant platter to be served with the toppings. (Balik cetakan ditengah-tengah nampan dan perlahan angkat cetakan. Jadilah gunung nasi uduk kita.)
