Pork Mushroom Siumay “Siomay Babi Jamur” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Try this savory yummy Chinese bites soon, here is the recipe from my kitchen.

“Makan siumay yuk malam ini…sedapnya siumay disajikan sama mie telur”

Ingredients:

  • 450 grams lean ground pork (daging babi filing berlemak)
  • 2 garlic –> minced (bawang putih –> haluskan)
  • 1 egg (telur ayam)
  • 2 green onions –> chopped (bawang prei –> cincang)
  • 1 cup of mushrooms –> chopped (jamur 1 cangkir kopi –> cincang)
  • 3 tablespoons of tapioca flour (tepung tapioka)
  • 1 tablespoon of fish sauce (kecap ikan)
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce (saus tiram)
  • 1/2 teaspoons of sesame oil (minyak wijen)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica secukupnya)
  • some wonton wraps (kulit pangsit)
  • some diced carrot (potongan kecil wortel)

Steps:

  1. Mix all of the ingredients except for wonton wraps and carrot. (Campur semua bahan kecuali kulit pangsit dan wortel.)
  2. Take 1 wonton wrap and put 1 teaspoon of meat filling on the center of it. Form onto siumay. (Ambil selembar kulit pangsit dan letakkan satu sendok the isian daging ditengah kulit. Bentuk siumay.)
  3. Drizzle enough diced carrot on the top of the siumay. (Taburi permukaan siumay dengan potongan wortel.)
  4. Boil enough water to steam the siumay. Steam the siumay for 35 minutes. (Panaskan air dalam pengukus untuk mengukus siumay. Kukus siumay selama 35 menit.)
  5. Serve warm. (Sajikan segera)
