Stir Fry Prawn and Veggies “Tumis Sayur & Udang” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Feel free to add more variation of veggies for this dish. Super simple and very delicious. Here is the recipe.

(Teman-teman bikin capjay udang sederhana yuk. Ini resepnya ya..)

  • 2 cups of medium prawn (udang segar)
  • 1 onion –> sliced thin (bawang bombay –> iris tipis)
  • 2 garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprak)
  • 1 large carrot –> peel and sliced thin (wortel –> kupas dan iris tipis)
  • 1 bunch of Gai Lan (sawi hijau –> potong-potong)
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar (gula pasir)
  • 1 cup of boiling chicken stock (kaldu ayam mendidih)
  • some starch water (water+starch) (air putih+kanji)
  • 1 tablespoon of oil (minyak sayur)

  1. Heat a pan on HIGH. Wait until it’s hot enough. Pour in the oil. Stir fry the garlic and onion. (Panaskan panci dengan api BESAR. Tunggu hingga panas, tunis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum.)
  2. Put in the prawn and the carrot. Mix for 30 seconds. (Masukkan udang dan wortel, tunis 30 detik.)
  3. Put in Gai Lan and stir fry for another 20 seconds. (Masukkan sawi hijau dan tumis selama 20 detik lagi.)
  4. Season with soy sauce, salt and pepper and sugar. Mix well. (Bumbui dengan kecap asin, garam dan merica serta gula pasir secukupnya, aduk rata.)
  5. Pour in the boiling stock and bring it to boil again. (Tuang kaldu ayam dan didihkan.)
  6. Pour in starch water and mix well. Turn off the heat and serve immediately. (Tuangkan air kanji dan aduk rata. Matikan api dan sajikan segera.)
