Simple Oriental Beef Steak (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

I love to make this super simple Oriental steak for dinner in hurry. The key of success for this dish is the marinating step. Here is the recipe for it.

(Teman-teman, bikin steak Oriental buat keluarga di rumah yuk. Daging nya bisa diganti dengan daging kesukaan masing-masing.)



Marinade sauce (Bumbu rendaman):

  • 300 grams of beef tenderloin –> sliced (daging sapi bagian lulur dalam/ tenderloin –> iris tipis)
  • 3 garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprak)
  • 3 cm of ginger root –> bashed (jahe –> geprak)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • 1 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice (air jeruk lemon)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica secukupnya)
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar (gula pasir)

Cooking Ingedients (Bahan masak):

  • 2 onions –> sliced ring (bawang bombay –> iris cincin besar)
  • 2 garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprak)
  • 1 tablespoon of oil (minyak sayur)
  • some fried onion (bawang goreng)


  1. Marinade the beef with the sauce for overnight in a fridge. (Rendam daging dalam bumbu semalaman dalam lemari es.)
  2. The day after, heat a pan on MEDIUM. Pour in vegetable oil and stir fry the garlic and onion until fragrant. Put in the beef and sauce and cook well. (Keesokan harinya, panaskan wajan dengan api MEDIUM, tuang minyak dan tunis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum. Masukkan daging dan saus dan tunis hingga matang perlahan. )
  3. Serve warm with sprinkle of fried onion. (Sajikan panas dengan tabu ran bawang goreng)
