Korean Jajangmyun “Black Bean Paste Noodle” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Made this easy and simple noodle for lunch with my kid. Super simple but delicious. Here is the recipe for it.

(Teman-teman, bikin mie Jajangmyun yuk, ini mie dengan pasta kedelai hitam yang terkenal dari Korea. Cara buat nya gampang dan enak pula..silahkan ganti daging sesuai selera.)

Ingredients: (2 portions/ 2 porsi)

  • 200 grams of spaghetti pasta –> cook following instruction and set aside (Spaghetti, masak sesuai petunjuk dan sisihkan)
  • 2 cloves of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprak)
  • 150 grams of ground pork (daging babi giling)
  • 1 large onion –> diced (bawang bombay –> potong dadu kecil)
  • 1 zucchini –> diced (zucchini –> potong dadu kecil)
  • 1 potato –> peeled and diced (kentang –> kupas dan potong dadu kecil)
  • 5 champignon mushrooms –> diced (jamur champignon –> potong dadu kecil)

For Black Bean sauce (Saus Hitam nya):

  • 3 tablespoons of Korean Jajang sauce (saus pasta kedelai hitam ala Korea)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (butter)
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar/ white sugar (gula pasir)
  • black pepper (bubuk merica hitam sesuai selera)
  • 1 tablespoon of rice wine (or miring) (arak beras)
  • 150 ml of chicken stock (kaldu ayam)
  • 50 ml of water (air putih) + 1 tablespoon of tapioca (kanji)

Steps:

  1. Heat a pot in medium, melt the butter and put in the garlic, stir fry until fragrant, put in the onion and stir fry for 30 seconds. (Panaskan wajan dengan api medium, lelehkan butter, tumis bawang putih hingga harum, tumis bawang bombay selama 30 detik. )
  2. Put in the ground pork and stir fry until cooked well. (Masukkan daging babi giling dan tumis hingga matang.)
  3. Put in zucchini, and potatoes and mushrooms. Stir fry for seconds. (Masukkan zucchini, kentang dan jamur dan tumis beberapa detik.)
  4. Put in the Jajang sauce, mix well. (Masukkan pasta Jajang dan aduk rata.)
  5. Season with sugar, rice wine and black pepper. (Bumbui dengan gula pasir, arak beras dan bubuk merica hitam.)
  6. Pour in the chicken stock and bring to boil. (Tuang kaldu ayam dan masak hingga mendidih.)
  7. Pour in the water and starch mixture and mix until the sauce get thicken. Turn off the heat. (Masukkan air campuran dengan kanji dan aduk rata hingga saus mengental. Matikan kompor)
  8. Place the pasta/ noodle in a plate and pour some sauce on the top of it. You can put boiled eggs, sesame seed and cut cucumber for the garnish. Enjoy! (Letakkan pasta pads piring, tuangi dengan saus secukupnya. Bisa juga ditambahkan potongan mentimun, biji wijen dan telur rebus. Sajikan segera!)
