Creamy Tom Yum Soup “Sup Tom Yum Santan” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Meet this creamy fresh tangy yummy soup, creamy Tom Yum Soup. It is basically Tom Yum based soup with some coconut milk. It’s rich and super tasty. Here is the recipe for it.

(Teman- teman, siapa yang demen sup Tom Yum, cobain varian baru yuk, creamy Tom Yum soup, sedeppp banget rasanya. Beda dan lebih gurih dan kaya rasa. Isinya boleh apa saja, daging apa saja, boleh jamur apa saja. Yuk, ini resepnya!)

Creamy Tom Yum Soup (Sup Tom Yum Santan)

Ingredients:

Tom Yum Soup Base (Sup Tom Yum dasar):

  • 1 cup prawn heads –> clean it well (kepala udang 1 cangkir)
  • 1 litre of water (air putih)
  • 2 cloves of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprek)
  • 1 lemongrass –> bashed (serai/sereh –> geprak)
  • 3 key lime leaves (daun jeruk)
  • 2 tablespoons of red chili powder (bubuk cabe merah besar)
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice (perasan jeruk nipis)
  • 1 teaspoon of fish sauce (kecap ikan)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica bubuk)
  • 50 ml of coconut milk (santan kental)

The Fillings (Isian Sup):

  • 1 cup of shrimps (udang 1 cangkir)
  • 1 cup of mushrooms (jamur 1 cangkir)
  • 1/2 cups of clams (kerang kecil)
  • 1/2 of onion –> sliced thin (bawang bombay)
  • 1 green onion –> sliced (bawang prei –> iris)
  • some chili flakes (cabe kerning giling)
  • some chili oil (minyak cabe)

Steps:

  1. Boil the ingredients for base soup well while keep on stirring it. (Rebus semua bahan untuk sup dasar sambil terus diaduk pelan supaya santan tidak pecah)
  2. Put in the mushrooms and onion inside the soup and cook well, bring the soup to boil again (Masukkan jamur dan bawang bombay dan masak hingga matang, didihkan lagi sup nya.)
  3. Put in shrimps and clam then cook only for 1 minute. Turn off the heat and sprinkle some green onion and chili flakes then pour in some chili oil. Serve hot. (Masukkan udang dan kerang kecil dan masak selama 1 menit saja. Matikan api dan bubuhi dengan potongan bawang prei dan taburi dengan cabe kering giling. Tuangi dengan minyak cabe secukupnya dan sajikan segera.)
