Quick Spicy Green Mussels “Kerang Hijau Pedas” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

One of my fave seafood, the green mussels. Their size is always right for any dish, love them so much. Often cook them spicy like this. Here is the recipe for it.

(Teman-teman, masak kerang hijau pedas yang gampang banget bikinnya yuk, cepet dan lezat. Yuk, cobain sama sama..)

Quick Spicy Green Mussels "Kerang Hijau Pedas" (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)


  • 20 pieces of green mussels (kerang hijau 20 biji)
  • 3 cloves of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprak)
  • 2 tbs of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)
  • 1 onion –> diced (bawang bombay –> potong dadu kecil)
  • 3 cm of ginger –> peel and bashed (jahe –> pupas dan geprak)
  • 1 tomato –> cut (tomat –> potong)
  • 2 tbs of Spicy Spring rolls sauce (saus spring roll/ saus sambal Bangkok)
  • 1 tbs of oyster sauce (saus tiram)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica secukupnya)


  1. Clean and wash the Mussels (Bersihkan dan cuci kerang hijau)
  2. Heat the pan on HIGH (Panaskan wajan dengan api BESAR)
  3. Pour in vegetable oil and wait until it is hot. Stir fry the garlic and onion until fragrant (Tuang minyak sayur dan tunggu hingga minyak panas. Tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum.)
  4. Put in ginger and tomato and stir fry for seconds. Put in the musses followed by seasoning it with spicy spring rolls sauce and oyster sauce. Sprinkle salt and pepper and stir fry for 1 minute. (Masukkan jahe dan tomat lalu aduk rata selama beberapa detik. Masukkan kerang hijau dan bumbui dengan saus sambal Bangkok dan saus tiram. Beri garam dan merica sesuai selera. Aduk rata selama 1 menit.)
  5. Turn off the stove and remove the mussels on a plate. Serve immediately (Matikan api dan pindah kerang pada sebuah piring, Sajikan segera.)
