Noodle and Veggies Fried Puff “Pastel Goreng” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Fill the pastry with glass noodle and carrots. Deep fried it and serve this Indonesian snack “Pastel Goreng” for your family. Here is the recipe.

(Teman-teman ini aku share resep gampang bikin pastel goreng dengan butter. Rasanya enak dan bisa puas-puas isi dalam pastelnya. Yuk bikin sama sama.)

Noodle and Veggies Fried Puff “Pastel Goreng” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Ingredients: (10 medium)

Pastry (Kulitnya):

  • 250 grams of cake/ pastry flour (Tepung terigu untuk kue)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (butter)
  • 1 egg (telur ayam)
  • 80 ml of water (air putih)
  • salt (garam)

Filling (Isian):

  • 1 bowl of glass noodle (suun)
  • 150 grams of chicken breast –> diced (dada ayam –> potong dadu kecil)
  • 3 cloves of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih–> geprak)
  • 1 large carrot –> grate (wortel –> serut besar)
  • 3 green onions –> cut dice (bawang prei 1 besar –> potong kecil)
  • 1 teaspoon of soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce (saus tiram)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica)
  • 1/2 tablespoons of sugar (gula pasir)
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)
  • 4 boiled eggs –> cut quarter each (telur rebus –> belah 4)
  • Frying oil (minyak goreng)

Steps:

  1. Make the wrap pastry: Mix together flour, egg, salt and butter. Pour slightly the water and mix well. Blend and knead until smooth and wrap it with plastic wrap, store in fridge for 1 hour. (Membuat kulit: camper tepung, telur, garam, dan butter. Tuang perlahan air putih dan aduk rata. Uleni hingga adonan kalis selama  2 menit. Bungkus dengan plastik dan simpan dalam kulkas selama 1 jam.)
  2. Make the filling: Heat a pan on MEDIUM. Pour in vegetable oil and stir fry the garlic until fragrant. Put in the chicken and stir fry until cooked well. Put in the carrot and cook until soft. Season with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook the noodle well then put in the green onions. Mix well for seconds and turn off the heat. (Membuat isian: Panaskan wajan dengan api MEDIUM. Tuang minyak sayur dan tumis bawang putih hingga harum. Masukkan ayam dan tunis hingga matang. Masukkan wortel dan masak hingga empuk. Bumbui dengan saus tiram, kecap asin, gula garam dan merica. Masukkan bawang prei dan aduk rata. Matikan api.)
  3. Set the filling aside until it is cool. (Dinginkan sempurna isian/ suun goreng.)
  4. Take out the pastry and roll it making sausage shape and cut it onto 10 equal size. Take one pieces and flatten it ROUND using your palm onto 1,5 mm thickness. Fill the sheet with 2 full tablespoons of filling and quarter of an egg, wrap it tight. Repeat until all done. (Keluarkan adonan dari kulkas, gulung bentuk sosis besar dan potong menjadi 10 bagian. Ambil sebuah dan pipihkan dengan tangan bentuk bulat dengan ketebalan kurang lebih 1,5 mm. Isi kulit dengan 2 sendok makan full isian dan telur rebus. Tutup rapat kulit dan sisihkan. Ulangi hingga semua habis.)
  5. Heat a pan with lot of oil to deep fry the puff. Deep fry the puffs until golden brown and drain the excess oil. Serve immediately. (Panaskan wajan dengan minyak didalamnya untuk menggoreng pastel. Goreng pastel hingga kecoklatan dan tiriskan minyaknya. Sajikan segera.)
