Sweet Pork Noodle “Mie Babi Manis” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

The sweet pork is the hero in this dish. Learn the easiest way to make it. Here we go!

(Teman-teman ini aku share resep bikin Mie Babi Manis yang sederhana ya. Babinya pakai potongan samsam (pork belly). Jadi sam sam model panjang itu diiris tipis tipis terlebih dahulu, lalu setelah itu dimasak hingga kuah meresap, dan terakhir dipotong potong kecil seperti di foto. Sama dengan daging gou ruk kecap, tapi ini dipotong kecil-kecil. Yuk, cobain!)

Sweet Pork Noodle “Mie Babi Manis” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Ingredients:

– 300 grams of pork belly (samsam)

– 3 cloves of garlic (bawang putih)

– 3 tablespoon of sugar (gula pasir)

– 1/2 teaspoons of salt (garam)

– 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper (merica bubuk)

– 3 tablespoons of soy sauce (kecap asin)

– 1/2 tablespoon of dark soy sauce (kecap manis hitam)

– 700 ml of water (air putih)

Noodles:

– 100 grams of egg noodles (mie telur)

– some soy sauce (kecap asin)

– some black pepper (merica bubuk)

– some frying oil (minyak goreng)

Steps:

  1. Cut the pork belly onto 6-7 cm length with 0,5 cm thick. Bash the garlic.

(Potong-potong samsam menjadi panjang 6-7 cm dan tebal 0,5 cm. Geprek bawang putih.)

  1. Prepare a pot and pour in 1 tablespoon of oil. Stir-fry the garlic until fragrant.

(Siapkan panci dan tuang 1 sendok makan minyak goreng. Tumis bawang putih hingga harum.)

  1. Put in the belly and stir well. Season with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, salt, sugar, and pepper.

(Masukkan potongan samsam, aduk rata. Bumbui dengan kecap asin, kecap asin hitam, garam, gula, dan merica.)

  1. Pour in the water and boil for about 1 hour in medium heat. The soup will become less and less until there is only small amount of it.

(Tuangkan air dan rebus hingga 1 jam di api medium. Kuah samsam akan menjadi sedikit dan sedikit mengental.)

  1. Boil some water and put in 100 grams of egg noodles inside. Cook following package instruction.

(Rebus air dan masukkan 100 gram mie telur kedalamnya. Masak sesuai petunjuk kemasan.)

  1. Take the noodle off the water and drain the excess water. Put in the noodle in a bowl filled with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/4 teaspoon of pepper, and 1 tablespoon of oil. Mix well.

(Angkat mie dari air dan tiriskan sisa airnya. Letakkan pada sebuah mangkuk berisi kecap asin, merica bubuk, dan minyak goreng. Campur rata.)

  1. Take out the pork belly and cut small using knife or scissors. Set aside.

(Keluarkan samsam dari panci dan potong kecil-kecil dengan pisau atau gunting. Sisihkan.)

  1. Serve the noodle with cut pork belly, some fried onions/ leek. You can add little of the sauce too on the noodles.

(Sajikan mie dengan potongan samsam, bawang goreng/ daun bawang. Boleh juga ditambahkan sedikit kuah samsam diatas mie. Enjoy!)
