Homemade Bison Burger “Burger Daging Bison” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

First time attempt on Bison Burger, and I love it to the max! I don’t have any idea of what this bison meat contains to compare with common beef, but I have to admit that I love the texture. It’s juicy and tender. I serve it with my homemade hamburger buns (check on Home wall of this blog to see how I make my “Ready in 1 Hour Homemade Hamburger Buns”), my fave simple caramelized onion and mayonnaise. Well, this is the recipe for it!

(Teman-teman, ini aku share resep untuk bikin Burger daging Bison sendiri di rumah ya. Ini kali pertama aku bikin patty dari daging Bison yang biasanya dipelihara di kebun binatang itu hahahaa..ternyata daging Bison hampir sama dengan daging sapi, lembut dan nggak keras. Yuk, cobain sama-sama..)

Bison Burger "Burger daging Bison"

Ingredients: (3 large burger patties/ 3 patty besar)

– 450 grams of ground Bison meat (daging Bison giling)

– 2 loaves or bread –> chopped really small (dua lembar roti –> cacah kecil-kecil)

– 1 egg (telur ayam)

– 1 tablespoon of garlic powder (bubuk bawang putih)

– 1/4 teaspoons of Cheyenne pepper powder (bubuk cabe merah besar)

– salt and pepper (garam dan merica secukupnya)

– 1 large onion –> sliced (bawang bombay –> iris)

– some mayonnaise (mayones kesukaanmu)

– 50 grams of cheese –> grated and divide onto 3 parts (keju –> parut dan bagi menjadi 3 bagian)

– some vegetable oil (minyak sayur)

Steps:

1. In a large bowl, mix together the meat, egg, bread, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Cheyenne powder. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, put in fridge and rest for about 1 hour.

(Pada sebuah mangkuk besar, campur bersama daging giling, telur, roti yang sudah diserpih kecil, bubuk bawang putih, garam, merica dan bubuk cabe merah besar. Kemudian tutup mangkuk dan masukkan dalam lemari es selama 1 jam.)

2. Divide the meat onto 3 and form them onto balls. Then, press them until they are 1-1,3 cm thick. (Bagi daging menjadi 3 bagian dan bentuk menjadi bola-bola besar. Tekan bola daging hingga membentuk patty burger dengan ketebalan 1-1/3 cm saja.)

3. Caramelized Onion: Heat a pan on MEDIUM and pour in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir-fry the onion until they are very soft and brownish. Turn off the stove and set the onion aside.

(Bawang bombay karamel: Panaskan wajan anti lengket dengan api Medium dan tuang 1 sendok makan minyak sayur. Tumis bawang bombay hingga bawang benar-benar lembek dan berwarna coklat. Angkat dan sisihkan)

4. To cook and serve: Heat a pan on MEDIUM and brush it with some vegetable oil. Put in the patty and cook for 5 minutes on one side. Flip it and put cheese on the top of it. Pour in 1 tablespoon of water and cover the pan to avoid the patty burnt. Cover the pan with the lid and cook the patty for about 6 minutes. Then, take it out the pan and serve it together with the buns, mayonnaise, and caramelized onion. Yummm..

(Cara memasak dan menyajikan: Panaskan wajan anti lengket dengan api Medium, oles permukaannya dengan minyak sayur. Letakkan patty dan masak selama 5 menit pada satu bagian. Balik patty dan letakkan keju parut diatas patty. Tuang 1 sendok makan air putih dalam wajan untuk mencegah patty gosong saat dimasak dengan wajan ditutup dan keju meleleh sempurna. Tutup wajan dan masak patty selama 6 menit lagi. Angkat daging patty dari wajan dan sajikan bersama roti burger, bawang bombay karamel dan mayones. Yummm..)
