Spicy Vegetarian Noodle “Mie Pedas Vegatarian” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Serve this on your vegan day, simple fried noodles with little spicy taste that won’t burn your tongue so much. I use egg in this recipe, you can just skip it of you don’t want. Here is the recipe.

(Teman-teman, ini aku share resep untuk bikin Mie Goreng Pedas Vegetarian di rumah. Simple aja cuma pake telur sebagai pengganti daging. Silahkan tambahkan jamur atau sayuran lain bila diinginkan. Yuk, cobain!)

Spicy Vegetarian Noodle "Mis Pedas Vegetarian"

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of dried noodle (mie kering/ mie telur)
  • 3 eggs–> beat (telur ayam–> kocok lepas)
  • 3 clove of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih–> geprek)
  • 1 onion –> chopped (bawang bombay –> potong kecil)
  • 1 large carro t–> peeled and sliced thin (wortel besar–> kupas dan iris tipis)
  • 2 red jalapeno peppers –> remove the seeds and mince soft (Lombok merah–> buang bijinya dan haluskan)
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce (saus tiram)
  • ½ tablespoons of white sugar (gula pasir)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica)
  • leek for garnish (bawang prei untuk pelengkap)

Steps:

  1. Cook the dried noodles according to the package. Don’t overcook. Drain well the noodles. (Rebus mie kering/mie telur sesuai petunjuk kemasan, jangan terlalu matang. Tiriskan.)
  2. Heat big pan on HIGH heat. The pour in the vegetable oil and stir-fry the garlic and onion until fragrant. Put in the minced red pepper and stir-fry until fragrant and little bit dried. Pour in the egg and keep on stirring until it’s cooked well. Put in the carrot and mix well. Cook until the carrot is little bit soft. (Panaskan wajan besar dengan api BESAR. Tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum, masukkan Lombok merah halus dan tumis hingga harum dan sedikit mengering. Masukkan telur kocok dan aduk rata hingga matang. Masukkan wortel iris dan aduk rata lagi. Masak hingga wortel sedikit empuk.)
  3. Put in the noodle and stir well. Season with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook the noodle for 2 minutes. Lift the noodle onto a plate and garnish with leek. Serve immediately. (Masukkan mie dan aduk rata. Bumbui dengan kecap asin, saus tiram, gula pasir, garam dan merica. Masak selama 2 menit dan segera pindahkan mie dalam sebuah pinggan/ piring besar. Bubuhkan potongan bawang prei dan sajikan segera.)
