Meatballs Rice Vermicelli “Bihun Siram Bakso” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Don’t let your left over meatballs wasted! Here is simple recipe for cooking delicious meatballs rice vermicelli. Basically you can add more vegetables or meat in this dish. Here is the recipe.

(Teman-teman ini aku share resep untuk membuat Bihun Siram Bakso sendiri di rumah, cara bikinnya gampang dan rasanya nggak kalah sama punya restoran di mall. Yuk, coba bikin juga!)

Meatballs Rice Vermicelli "Bihun Siram Bakso"

Ingredients: (1 portion)

  • 100 grams of Rice Vermicelli (soak in hot water/ soak following instruction on package) (bihun –> rendam sesuai petunjuk dalam kemasan)
  • 3 cloves of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprek)
  • 1 onion –> chopped (bawang Bombay –> potong dadu kecil)
  • 2 medium tomatoes –> cut onto 4 each (tomat ukuran medium –> potong masing-masing menjadi 4 bagian)
  • 6 beef meatballs –> cut chunk (bakso sapi –> potong masing-masing menjadi 4 bagian)
  • 1 leek –> cut long (bawang prei –> potong panjang)
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • 1 teaspoon of dark soy sauce (kacap asin dark)
  • 500 ml of beef stock (kaldu sapi)
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil (minyak wijen)
  • salt and pepper (garam dan merica)
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)
  • 3 tablespoons of water (air) + 1 tablespoon of potato/ corn starch (maizena)

Steps:

  1. Soak the vermicelli following instruction. Drain the water and set it aside. (Rendam bihun sesuai petunjuk kemasan. Tiriskan dan letakkan bihun diatas sebuah piring.)
  2. Heat big pan on HIGH. Pour in vegetable oil and stir fry the garlic and onion until fragrant. Then, stir-fry the meatballs for 5 minutes. (Panaskan wajan besar dengan api BESAR. Tuang minyak sayur dan tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum. Masukkan bakso dan tumis selama 5 menit.)
  3. Season with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, salt and pepper. Then, pour in the beef stock. Bring it to boil. Put in the tomato and leek mix well. Directly, pour in the starch water little by little while keep on stirring the stock until you reach thickness consistency you want. (Bumbui dengan kecap asin, kecap asin hitam, garam dan merica sesuai selera. Tuang kaldu sapi dan masak hingga mendidih. Masukkan potongan tomat dan bawang prei dan aduk rata. Langsung tuang perlahan campuran air dan maizena sambil terus diaduk hingga mencapai kekentalan yang diinginkan.)
  4. Pour in sesame oil to the pan and stir quickly for seconds. Take the pan off the stove. Then, generously pour the sticky stock on the top of the rice vermicelli. Serve immediately. (Tuang minyak wijen dalam wajan dan aduk cepat selama beberapa detik. Angkat wajan dari api dan segera tuang kuah siram kental diatas bihun. Sajikan segera.)
