Beef Ribs and Baby Potato Stew “Iga Sapi Kentang” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

This finger food is really good, and so addicting. Make sure you cook double if you have guest, since you’ll never stop eating this yummy dish. Fell free to add more potatoes if you wish. Here is the recipe!

(Teman-teman, ini aku share resep bikin Iga Sapi Kentang ya, ini semacam iga kecap dicampur kentang, cuman ada caranya supaya kentang nggak hancur. Bahannya sederhana dan masaknya pun simple, bisa ditinggal tinggal pula sambil kerja yang lain sambil masak. Cocok banget untuk sajian pesta/ perayaan di rumah. Yuk, cobain!)

Beef Ribs and baby potato stew "iga sapi ken tang"

Ingredients:

– 1 kg of beef ribs (iga sapi)

– 6 baby potatoes –> peeled (3 kentang ukuran sedang, kupas dan dibelah dua)

– 3 cloves of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprek)

– 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)

– 2 tomatoes –> cut chunk (tomat –> potong kotak)

– 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (kecap asin)

– 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce (kecap asin hitam)

– 2 tablespoons of sugar (gula pasir)

– salt and pepper (garam dan merica bubuk secukupnya)

– 1200 ml of hot water (air panas)

– some sesame seed for garnish (biji wijen untuk hiasan)

Steps:

1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil and saute the garlic until fragrant. Put in the tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes. Put in the ribs and season with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, salt and pepper. Pour in the water and boil for 1 hour.

(Pada sebuah panci besar, panaskan minyak sayur dengan api medium, tumis bawang putih hingga harum. Masukkan potongan tomat dan masak selama 2 menit. Masukkan iga dan aduk rata sejenak, bumbui dengan kecap asin, kecap asin hitam, gula, garam dan merica secukupnya. Rebus selama 1 jam.)

2. After 1 hour, put in the potatoes and continue boiling for another 30 minutes. MONITOR the dish every 15 minutes to make sure it doesn’t burn. After 30 minutes, turn off the stove and serve the dish in a large plate, sprinkle with sesame seed. Enjoy!

(Setelah 1 jam, masukkan kentang dan teruskan merebus selama 30 menit lagi, sambil sering diawasi tiap 10 menit untuk memastikan masakan tidak gosong. Setelah 30 menit, matikan kompor dan sajikan iga kentang pada sebuah piring/ pinggan. Taburi dengan biji wijen dan nikmati panas-panas.)
