Simple Homemade Noodle with Tomato and Mushrooms “Mie Tomat Jamur” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Homemade noodle from scratch has been popular in my family this year, super simple handmade noodle without egg needed, just water and flour. Sauted in pork lard and served simple with only light soy sauce and black pepper. Super yummy and happy nose scented. Here is the recipe!

(Teman teman, bikin mie sendiri di rumah tanpa telur lalu di tumis cepat dengan menggunakan minyak babi/ ayam/bebek bersama bawang putih, tomat, jamur iris, plus bubuk merica hitam dan kecap asin. Super enakkkk dan selalu pengen bikin terus, Yuk, cobain!)

Homemade Noodle with Tomato and Mushroom "Mie Tomat Jamur"

Ingredients: (1 portion/ 1 porsi)

– 80 grams of all purpose flour (tepung terigu)

– 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)

– 60 ml water (air putih)

– some salt and pepper (garam dan merica secukupnya)

– flour for dusting (tepung terigu untuk taburan)

– water for boiling (air untuk merebus mie) + 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)

– 1 tablespoon of pork lard/ chicken lard (minyak babi/ lemak ayam/ bebek)

– 1 cloves of garlic –> bashed (bawang putih –> geprek)

– 1 tomato –> chopped (tomat segar –> dipotong dadu kecil)

– 3 fresh champignon mushrooms –> sliced thin (jamur champignon –> iris tipis)

– 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce (kecap asin)

– some black pepper (bubuk merica secukupnya)

– some leek –> sliced thin (bawang prei –> potong kecil)

– some fried/ oven roasted onion (bawang goreng secukupnya)

Steps:

1. In a bowl, mix in flour, salt, pepper, oil and water. Mix well and move it on a lightly dusted surface. Knead for couple minutes until it’s no longer sticky and it’s elastic. Rest for 15 minutes covered with plastic wrap.

(Pada sebuah mangkuk, campur bersama tepung, garam dan merica, minyak sayur dan air. Campur rata dan pindahka pada permukaan meja bersih kering yang ditaburi tepung tipis tipis. Uleni sambil taburi dengan tepung sedikit demi sedikit hingga adonan tidak lagi lengket dan elastis. Uleni selama beberapa menit saja. Tutup dengan plastik wrap dan biarkan selama 15 menit.)

2. After 15 minutes, the dough will become softer, dust your working surface and place in the dough on the center and roll it gently making thick rope. Cut the rope onto 3 pieces. Then directly flatten one of the cut dough using flour dusted rolling pin until it’s very thin about 1,5 mm. Repeat the same process to the other 2 dough.

(Setelah 15 menit, adonan akan menjadi lebih lembut, taburi permukaan meja kering dengan tepung dan letakkan adonan di tengahnya, perlahan guling guling adonan membentuk lonjong. Potong adonan menjadi 3 bagian sama besar. Ambil satu potong adonan dan gilas dengan rolling pin yang ditaburi tepung terlebih dahulu hingga adonan tipis kurang lebih 1,5 mm ketebalannya. Lakukan sama dengan 2 potongan adonan lainnya.)

3. Boil 4 cups of water in a pot. Pour in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

(Didihkan 4 cangkir air dalam panci. Tuang 1 sendok makan minyak sayur dalam air.)

4. Cut the sheet of the dough using regular kitchen knife, the size or wideness of the noodle is absolutely following your preference. Then lightly dust the cut noodle again with some flour and untie the noodles one from another well.

(Potong lembaran adonan dengan pisau dapur, ukuran mie bisa disesuaikan dengan kesukaan masing-masing. Taburi permukaan mie yang telah terpotong dengan sedikit tepung dan uraikan mie perlahan sehingga tidak lengket satu sama lain.)

Homemade Eggless Noodles

5. Boil the noodle in the boiling water for about 1-2 minutes or until they float. Then drain the excess water from it. Dip the noodle in warm water.

(Rebus mie dalam air mandidih selama 1-2 menit atau hingga mie mengapung. Celup mie dalam air matang hangat hangat kuku selama menunggu di tumis.)

6. Heat non stick pan on high, put in the lard and melt it, put in the garlic and wait until it’s fragrant. Put in the tomato and mushrooms, sauté well for 1 minute. Drain the noodle. Put in the noodle and soy sauce plus black pepper. Stir well for only seconds. Serve immediately with sliced leek and fried/ oven roasted onions.

(Panaskan wajan dengan api besar, lelehkan lemak babi/ayam/bebek, tumis bawang putih hingga harum. Masukkan tomat dan jamur, tumis selama 1 menit. Tiriskan mie. Masukkan mie dan bumbui dengan kecap asin dan bubuk merica. Aduk rata selama beberapa detik. Sajikan segera dengan potongan bawang prei dan bawang goreng!)
