Fried Pork Meatballs “Bakso Goreng Babi” (Bilingual Eng-Indonesia)

Here is one of my fave dishes, fried pork meatballs. Homemade chopped pork mixed with potato starch and egg, seasoned with salt and pepper. They are so soft, bouncy, and made without any baking powder or baking soda, so it’s safe for little kids. Here is the recipe!

(Teman-teman ini aku share resep Bakso Goreng Babi biasanya disebut Bakwan Goreng babi, dibuat dari babi diblender halus/ boleh juga dicacah biasa kalo nggak ada blender. Nah dibumbui sederhana aja. Rasanya kenyal, empuk, sedap dan tanpa bahan kimia seperti baking powder atau baking soda. Yuk, coba sendiri di rumah.)

Fried Pork Meatballs


– 300 grams of ground pork –> with around 30% of fat (daging babi giling lemak 30 persen/ berlemak sedikit)

– 2 eggs –> beaten softly (telur ayam –> kocok lepas perlahan)

– 1 clove of garlic –> minced soft (bawang putihft  –> haluskan)

– 2 cloves of small shallot –> minced soft (bawang merah –> haluskan)

– salt and pepper (garam dan bubuk merica hitam secukupnya)

– 3 tablespoons of potato starch/ tapioca (tapioka)

– some oil for deep frying (minyak untuk menggoreng)


1. In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, egg, potato starch, salt and pepper, garlic and shallot.

(Pada sebuah mangkuk, campur bersama daging babi giling, telur, tepung tapioka, garam dan merica, bawang putih dan bawang merah dengan rata.)

2. Blend the pork using blender for 10 seconds.

(Blender daging dengan blender bersama bumbu dan tepungnya selama 10 detik.)

3. Heat the oil in a sauce pan on SMALL heat for 10 minutes. Take 2 spoons, take one scoop of pork using a spoon and slightly form a ball with a help of another spoon. Fry the meatball for app. 15-20 minutes. Don’t fry with HIGH heat, use only SMALL heat. Drain the excess oil using sieve. Serve warm!

(Panaskan minyak dalam wajan dengan api KECIL selama 10 menit. Ambil 2 buah sendok, ambil sesendok daging babi dengan sendok dan perlahan bentuk bulat dengan pertolongan sendok lainnya. Goreng hingga agak kering selama 15-20 menit. Jangan goreng dengan api BESAR, gunakan api KECIL. Tiriskan dan sajikan panas.)
