Fried Buffalo Wings “Sayap Ayam Goreng Tepung” (Bilingual Eng-Indo)

When it’s time for chicken fries, I always use this simple frying mix I made myself. And yesterday I made Fried Buffalo Wings. The wings were simply crunchy, tasty, juicy and the most important is you use your homemade frying mix instead of the one in a box. I marinated the chicken wings a while before stored and fried them. Well, here we go!

(Teman-teman, ini aku share resep bikin Buffalo Wings goreng tepung. Ada pula di blog yang model panggang bumbu pedas (spicy wings). Nah, aku bumbui dulu ayamnya sebelum di goreng supaya lebih mantap. Ayamnya kriuk plus nggak pake tepung bumbu jadi karena pake tepung racikan sendiri. Yuk, bikin juga! )

Fried Buffalo Wings

Ingredients (6 large chicken wings/ 12 small chicken wings):

Marinade (Bumbu Rendaman):

– 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (perasan jeruk lemon)

– 2 cloves of garlic –> minced (bawang putih –> haluskan)

– salt and black pepper (garam dan merica hitam secukupnya)

Frying Mix (Tepung Bumbu):

– 1 cup of all purpose flour (125 grams) (tepung terigu)

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 1 tablespoon of garlic powder (bubuk bawang putih)

– 1 teaspoon of cheyenne pepper (bubuk cabe merah besar)

– 1/2 teaspoon of chicken broth powder (bubuk kaldu ayam)

– 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder

– 3/4 teaspoon of black pepper (bubuk merica hitam)

Fried Chicken Recipe: (Resep Sayap Ayam Goreng Tepung)

1. Place chicken wings in a bowl then pour in lemon juice, salt and pepper, and minced garlic. Mix well with your hand, rub them evenly with the seasoning. Fridge coved with plastic wrap for about 1 hour.

(Letakkan sayap ayam dalam mangkuk dan tuang perasan jeruk lemon, garam dan merica hitam dan bawang putih halus. Aduk rata dengan tangan hingga bumbu memenuhi permukaan sayap. Tutup rapat dengan plastik cling/ wrap dan simpan di dalam lemari es (bukan freezer) selama 1 jam.)

2. Preheat your pan (medium heat) with lot of oil enough to deep fry the chicken wings.

(Panaskan minyak yang banyak, cukup untuk menggoreng sayap ayam.)

3. Prepare 150 ml of cold milk (susu cair dingin) in a bowl.

(Siapkan 150 ml susu cair dingin di dalam mangkuk.)

4. Begin to dip the chicken wing into the milk one at a time.

(Celupkan 1 potong sayap ayam di dalam susu cair dingin.)

5. Roll the chicken wing on the mix flour. Turn back the chicken wing to the milk, and once again roll it on the frying mix. For more curly effect, pinch the surface of the floured chicken with your fingers for couple times.

(Gulingkan sayap  ayam diatas tepung bumbu, celup sayap ayam sekali lagi ke dalam susu dingin, dan guling kembali ke tepung bumbu, untuk hasil gorengan yang lebih keriting: cubit-cubit permukaan sayap  bertepung beberapa kali.)

6. Tap the excess of the flour and fry the chicken wing until golden brown for 8-10 minutes.

(Ketuk-ketuk sayap ayam untuk menjatuhkan sisa tepung yang menempel di permukaan, goreng ayam selama 8-10 menit hingga kecoklatan.)

7. Put the fried chicken in a sieve for couple minutes and serve warm!

(Tiriskan minyak pada ayam dengan meletakkannya didalam saringan selama beberapa menit. Sajikan hangat!)
