Baked Potato Cake “Perkedel Panggang” (Bilingual Eng-Indo)

For you who want to reduce the amount of oil in cooking. Enjoy this yummy potato Cake baked in oven. Two times baking in this recipe. Decorate the surface of the cake the way you like. Enjoy!

(Teman-temang ini aku share resep untuk bikin perkedel kentang tapi yang dipanggang di oven, minim minyak jadi bisa sekalian jaga kolesterol hehe… Yang lucunya lagi, bagian atas permukaannya bisa dihias sesuka hati, ini aku kasih irisan wortel biar cakep, boleh juga diganti keju, sayur dll sesuka hati. Yuk, cobain!)

Baked Potato Cake

Ingredients:

– 500 grams of potato (kentang segar)

– 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)

– 1 egg (telur ayam)

– 2 cloves of garlic (bawang putih)

– 1 clove of shallot (2 butir bawang merah)

– 2 tablespoons of fried/ovened onion (bawang goreng)

– some celery (chopped well) (sedikit daun seledri yang dipotong halus kecil)

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 1/8 teaspoon of pepper (merica bubuk)

– 1 carrot –> sliced thin round (wortel –> diiris tipis bundar)

– 1 egg –> for brushing (telur untuk olesan)

Steps:

1. Peel, wash and cut the potato to small dice. Put the potato in a casserole, mix the potato with vegetable oil. Bake the potato in preheated oven on 180 C until it’s begin to golden brown and soft for about 45 minutes.

(Kupas, cuci, dan potong-potong kentang menjadi dadu kecil. Letakkan kentang dalam casserole, campur dengan minyak sayur dan panggang kentang dalam oven yang telah dipanaskan menjadi 180 C, hingga mulai kecoklatan dan empuk, kira kira selama 45 menit.)

2. After 45 minutes, take the potato out and directly mash the potato well.

(Setelah 45 menit, keluarkan kentang dari oven dan kemudian haluskan kentang.)

3. Grind the garlic, shallot, and fried onion together. Put the mix and only 1 egg onto the potato and blend well. Put in celery, salt and pepper and mix well.

(Haluskan bersama bawang putih, bawang merah, dan bawang goreng.  Masukkan campuran bawang dalam kentang dan aduk rata. Kocok 1 butir telur dan campur rata dengan kentang. Masukkan daun seledri, garam dan merica lalu aduk rata.)

4. Take one tablespoon of potato mix and round it with your hands shaping ball. Slightly press the ball using your palm to shape wheel round plate with app. 1,5 cm height. Repeat until the potato done.

(Ambil satu sendok makan munjung kentang dan bulatkan lalu tekan bentuk pipih bulat dengan ketebalan 1,5 cm. Ulangi hingga kentang habis)

5. Preheat the oven again on 220 C.

(Panaskan oven hingga 220 C.)

6. Beat the remain 1 egg with fork on one plate.

(Kocok 1 buah telur sisanya dengan menggukanan garpu didalam piring.)

7. Base the baking pan with baking paper and start to put the potato cake one by one carefully. Brush the surface of the cake with beaten egg wash. Place the sliced carrot on the center of it. Bake for another 10 minutes or until golden brown.

(Alasi baking tray dengan baking paper. Letakkan kantang satu per satu diatas baking tray dan olesi permukaannya dengan telur kocok. Letakkan irisan wortel diatasnya dan panggang selama 10 menit atau hingga coklat keemasan. Selesai!  )
