Butter Cookies (Bilingual Eng-Indo)

I always make these yummy crunchy bites for my lil one that he can bring them to school for tea time. Simple ingredients and very quick method. Far from hush and rush. Here we go!

(Teman-teman, ini aku share resep bikin butter cookies yang cukup kokoh dan renyah, rasanya sudah pasti enak karena pakai butter dan labih gurg dari sugar cookies biasa. Cocok banget untuk anak anak karena bebas pewarna dan bahan kimia lainnya. Yuk, cobain!)

Ingredients:

– 1 cup of unsalted butter (229 gram butter)

– 1 cup of powdered sugar (130 gram gula bubuk)

– 1 egg (telur ayam)

– 3 cup of all purpose flour (374 gram tepung terigu)

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt (garam)

Steps:

1. In a big bowl, beat the butter using hand mixer on high for about 10 minutes. Then, put in the sugar powder and beat again on medium for about 5 minutes. Put in salt and egg and beat on high for another 2 minutes

(Pada sebuah mangkuk besar, kocok butter dengan menggunakan hand mixer dengan kecepatan tinggi selama 10 menit. Masukkan gula bubuk dan kocok lagi selama 5 menit. Masukkan garam dan telur, kocok lagi selama 2 menit dengan kecepatan tinggi.)

2. Slightly shieve the flour 1/3 part a time into the bowl with the mixer on low. Do until all of the flour ends. You will end up with crumbly soft dough. Turn off the mixer and mix the dough with your hand for one minute to form a big ball. Divide the dough onto 2 and shape balls again. Cover each ball with plastic wrap tightly and refrigerate for 1 hour.

(Perlahan saring 1/3 bagian tepung kedalam mangkuk sambil mixer masih menyala dengan kecepatan rendah. Lakukan hingga sisa tepung habis perlahan. Adonan akan berupa gumpalan gumpalan lembut. Matikan mixer dan satukan adonan menjadi bola besar dengan manggunakan tangan selama 1 menit. Bagi adonan menjadi 2 bagian dan bentuk bola lagi. Bungkus masing-masing bola adonan dengan plastic wrap rapat rapat dan masukkan dalam kulkas (bukan freezer) selama 1 jam)

3. After 1 hour, take out 1 ball dough and start to flatten it using rolling pin. Flat the dough evenly with app 3/4 cm in height. Then, cut them with cookie cutter you prefer. You can gather the pieces of the dough onto ball shape again and flatten it. Then place the cut dough on a plate and put it in the fridge again for about 1 hour. Cut the rest of the dough until ends.

(Setelah 1 jam, kaluarkan 1 bola adonan dan gunakan rolling pin (penggilas adonan) untuk meratakan adonan menjadi lembaran dengan ketinggian 3/4 cm. Potong adonan dengan pemotong kue sesuai seleramu. Potongan adonan yang tersisa bisa disatukan lagi, dibentuk bola dan digilas lagi. Letakkan adonan yang telah terpotong pada sebuah piring dan masukkan dalam kulkas (bukan freezer) selama 1 jam. Potong adonan sisa yang ada hingga adonan habis. )

4. Preheat the oven to 180 C. Base the baking tray with baking paper and place on the cut dough one by one carefully. Bake for 10 minutes or until the edge of the cookie becomes little bit brown.

(Panaskan oven hingga 180 C. Alasi baking tray dengan baking paper dan letakkan potongan adonan satu per satu. Panggang selama 10 menit atau hingga pinggiran cookie menjadi sedikit kecoklatan.)

5. Cool the cookies completely on wire rack before store them in a closed jar/tin.

(Dinginkan cookies hingga sempurna sebelum menyimpannya dalam wadah tertutup rapat. Simpan dalam lemari es.)IMG_4823 IMG_4833
