Korean Tang Soo Yuk (“Sweet Sour Pork” Bilingual Eng-Indo)

Two days ago I made this my style Tang Soo Yuk minus some authentic ingredients. I just deep fry the pork then pour it with soy sauce mixed with some carrot, leek and onion. You can add slices of pineapple too if you want. Here is my simple recipe for Tang Soo Yuk!

(Teman-teman ini aku share resep bikin Tang Soo Yuk ala Korea, meski minus beberapa bahan untuk sausnya tetep enak rasanya, asem manis seger minus saus tomat. Boleh ganti dangingnya dengan daging kesukaan kalian. Ayuk bikin juga !)

Korean Tang Soo Yuk

Ingredients:

For the pork fries (untuk gorengan nya):

– 200 grams of pork loin –> cut 5×1 cm (daging babi tanpa lemak –> potong menjadi ukuran 5×1 cm)

– 1 cup of flour (1 cangkir tepung terigu)

– 3/4 cup of water (3/4 cangkir air putih)

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 1/8 teaspoon od ground black pepper (bubuk merica hitam)

For the sauce: (untuk sausnya)

– 1 medium carrot –> cut onto sticks (wortel ukuran medium dipotong korek api)

– 1 onion –> cut onto half and each pieces cut onto half again (bawang bombay –> dibelah dua lalu tiap bagian dibelah sekali lagi)

– 1 leek –> sliced (bawang prei diiris)

– 3 cloves of garlic –> thin sliced (bawang putih diiris tipis)

– 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)

– 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (kecap asin)

– 2 cups of boiling water (air putih panas mendidih 470 ml)

– 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar (cuka apel)

– 1 tablespoon of sugar (gula pasir)

– 1/2 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 1/8 teaspoon of ground black pepper (bubuk merica hitam )

– 1 tablespoon of tapioca/ potato starch –> mixed with 1 tablespoon of water (tepung tapioka dicampur 1 sendok makan air)

Steps:

1. Mix the flour, water, salt and pepper to make batter. Dip the cut pork in and set aside.

(Campur rata tepung, air, garam dan merica untuk membuat adonan celup. Celupkan semua potongan daging dan sisihkan. )

2. Heat your deep fryer/ pan with lot of oil to deep fry the pork on medium. Deep fry the pork on by one for about 7 minutes. Drain the excess oil with paper towel/ shieve.

(Panaskan penggorengan dengan minyak banyak untuk menggoreng daging dengan api medium. Goreng potongan daging satu per satu selama 7 menit. Tiriskan minyaknya.)

3. Making the sauce: Heat another pan on high and pour in the oil. Put in garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant and put in the carrot and leek. Pour in soy sauce, apple vinegar, sugar, salt, and boiling water. When the water starts to bubble, pour in the tapioca and mix for 20 seconds.

(Membuat sausnya: Panaskan wajan dengan minyak dengan api besar. Jika wajan sudah panas, tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga harum. Masukkan wortel dan bawang prei. Bumbui dengan kecap asin, garam, gula, cuka apel, dan merica. Tuang air mendidih kedalamnya dan aduk rata. Jika kuah mulai mendidih, tuang tapiokanya, aduk rata selama 20 detik saja. Angkat!)

4. Place the pork fries in a plate and pour on the sauce, serve immediately!

(Letakkan gorengan daging di atas piring dan siram dengan saus. Sajikan segera!)
