Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice (Bilingual-Eng-Indo)

Fried rice has been known as one of the most delicious dishes in Indonesia. It can have many variation too, from the topping to the sauce. Today I made this simple Pineapple Shrimp fried rice for my family. Here is the recipe!

(Teman-teman ini aku share resep nasi goreng nanas udang yang aku bikin di rumah ya. Bahan dan bumbunya super gampang, jadi bisa dibikin kapan pun kalo mau. Yuk, cobain!)

Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice

Ingredients: (1 portion)

– 1 medium bowl of steamed rice (nasi putih)

– 50 grams of pineapple (buah nanas)

– 1 medium carrot (wortel)

– 1/2 medium onion (bawang bombay)

– some leek (daun bawang)

– 1 clove of garlic (bawang putih)

– 50 grams of small shrimps (udang kecil)

– 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (kecap asin)

– 1/4 teaspoon of fish sauce (kecap ikan)

– some ground black pepper (bubuk merica hitam)

– dash of sesame oil (minyak wijen)

– 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (minyak sayur)


1. Chopped the pineapple, carrot, onion, leek, and garlic into small dices. Peel the shrimps and cut the tails off.

(Potong-potong menjadi dadu kecil nanas, wortel, bawang bombay, daun bawang, dan bawang putih. Kupas dan buang ekor pada udang.)

2. In a wok/ pan heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil on high heat. When it’s hot enough, put in the garlic, saute until fragrance, then put in the onion and carrot, cook for 20 seconds.

(Pada sebuah penggorengan/ wajan, panaskan minyak sayur dengan api besar. Jika wajan sudah panas, masukkan bawang putih, tumis hingga harum, lalu masukkan bawang bombay dan wortel, tumis selama 20 detik saja.)

3. Put in the shrimps and pineapple, saute for another 30 seconds (or until the shrimps cooked). Put in the rice and mix well.

(Masukkan udang dan nanas, tumis lagi selama 30 detik (atau hingga udang matang. Masukkan nasi dan aduk rata.)

4. Pour in the soy sauce, fish sauce, ground black pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well for 2 minutes.

(Tuang kecap asin, kecap ikan, bubuk merica hitam, dan minyak wijen kedalamnya. Aduk rata lagi selama 2 menit.)

5. The last, put in the chopped leek in the rice and mix well for seconds. Serve the fried rice hot!

(Terakhir masukkan cincangan daun bawang kedalam nasi dan aduk rata selama beberapa detik saja. Sajikan nasi goreng!)
