Simple Chinese Bun (Bilingual Eng-Indo)

Try this simple recipe that I use to make steamed Chinese Buns. I filled the buns with sauced meat and some of them has Nutella in. Here is the basic recipe for the bun. Fell free to fill it with your fave fillings.

(Teman-teman ini aku share resep Bakpau sederhana yang aku bikin hari ini. Bahannya sederhana dan pasti ada di rumah. Cara bikinnya juga gampang dan hasilnya cukup memuaskan untuk ukuran dapur sendiri..hehehe..Yuk,cobain!)

Simpel Chinese Buns

Ingredients:

– 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour (187 grams) (tepung terigu serba guna)

– 3/4 cup od warm milk (177 ml) (susu hangat)

– 1,4 teaspoon of yeast (ragi instant)

– some salt (garam)

– 1 teaspoon of sugar (gula pasir)

– parchment paper

Steps:

1. In a large bowl mix together all of the ingredients.

(Campur semua bahan menjadi satu dalam sebuah mangkuk besar.)

2. Still in the bowl, knead the dough for about 5-8 minutes or until smooth.

(Masih di dalam mangkuk, uleni adonan hingga 5-8 menit atau hingga lembut.)

3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 40 minutes.

(Tutup mangkuk dengan plastik dan biarkan mengembang selama 40 menit.)

4. Punch the dough with your hand to release the air inside, and start to knead it again on your working space/ table floured with flour. Make sausage shape and divide the dough onto 6 equal pieces using knife.

(Kempeskan adonan dengan tangan untuk mengeluarkan udara dalam adonan, keluarkan adonan dari mangkuk dan siapkan meja bersih bertabur tepung tipis tipis, uleni adonan hingga lembut dan bentuk lonjong seperti tongkat/ sosis, lalu potong rata menjadi 6 bagian dengan menggunakan pisau.)

5. Put the dough on your palm and flat it using the opposite hand, fill the center of the dough with your fave filling and wrap to seal it tight. Put it upside down with the smooth side up and put the bun on cut parchment paper. Rest the dough for another 30 minutes.

(Letakkan adonan di telapak tangan dan tekan rata membentuk pipih dengan tangan lainnya, letakkan isian di tengah adonan. Tutup adonan dengan melipat nya hingga saling bertemu satu sama lain hingga rapat. Balik adonan sehingga bagian permukaan yang mulus berada di atas. Letakkan adonan di atas kertas baking dan biarkan mengembang selama 30 menit lagi.)

6. Heat the steamer on high, fill it with enough water to steam the buns. Place the buns in the steamer and steam it for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and wait until 5 minutes before opening the lid. Take out the buns and they are ready to be served^^

(Panaskan dandang dengan api besar, isi dalamnya dengan air cukup untuk mengukus bakpau. Letakkan adonan di dalam dandang dan kukus selama 15 menit. Matikan api dan tunggu selama 5 menit sebelum membuka tutup dandang. Keluarkan bakpau dari dandang dan siap disajikan.)
