Fried Potato Cake (Bilingual Eng-Indo)

Try this recipe soon. This is the simple way I make my deep fried potato cake at home. Easy and makes yummy side dish for your dinner, or you may have it all for main course or snack. Here we go!

(Temen-temen ini resep perkedel yang biasa aku pakai di rumah, caranya sederhana dan seneng banget bikin gorengan yang satu ini, apalagi dipadupadankan sama sup atau soto. Cuman aku suka pake tepung panir/roti sebagai lapisannya supaya perkedel tidak terlalu berminyak. Yuk, bikin bareng-bareng!)

Deep Fried Potato Cake

Ingredients:

– 500 grams of potato (kentang segar)

– 2 egg (telur ayam)

– 2 cloves of garlic (bawang putih)

– 1 clove of shallot (2 butir bawang merah)

– 2 tablespoons of fried/ovened onion (bawang goreng)

– some celery (chopped well) (sedikit daun seledri yang dipotong halus kecil)

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 1/8 teaspoon of pepper (merica bubuk)

– 100 gram bread crumb (tepung rpanir/oti)

Steps:

1. Peel, wash and cut the potato to small dice. Fry the potato until it’s begin to golden brown and soft.

(Kupas, cuci, dan potong-potong kentang menjadi dadu kecil, Goreng kentang hingga mulai kecoklatan dan empuk.)

2. Put the potato on paper towel to remove the excess oil. Mash the potato well.

(Tiriskan minyak dari kentang, kemudian haluskan kentang.)

3. Grind the garlic, shallot, and fried onion together. Put the mix and only 1 egg onto the potato and blend well. Put in celery, salt and pepper and mix well.

(Haluskan bersama bawang putih, bawang merah, dan bawang goreng.  Masukkan campuran bawang dalam kentang dan aduk rata. Kocok 1 butir telur dan campur rata dengan kentang. Masukkan daun seledri, garam dan merica lalu aduk rata.)

4. Preheat the deep fryer/ pan with enough oil to deep fry the potato on medium heat.

(Panaskan penggorengan dengan minyak cukup banyak untuk menggoreng perkedel.)

5. Prepare 2 plates. Beat the remain 1 egg with fork on one plate. On the another plate, pour in the bread crumb.

(Siapkan dua buah piring. Kocok 1 buah telur sisanya dengan menggukanan garpu didalam piring.  Pada piring lainnya, tuangkan tepung panir/roti.)

6. Start to form balls with the potato and slightly flatten the ball to 1,5 cm thick. Slowly dip the potato cake in the egg and take it out using fork, drip the excess egg. Then, roll the potato cake on the bread crumb.

(Mulai bentuk bola-bola kentang dan tekan perlahan bola kentang dengan tangan hingga menjadi pipih dengan ketebalan1,5 cm. Perlahan celup kentang dalam telur kocok, angkat kentang dengan garpu dan teteskan sisa telur yang menetes, lalu gulingkan kentang diatas tepung panir/roti)

7. Deep fry the potato cake until golden brown. Drip the excess oil from the potato cake using shieve/ paper towel. Done!

(Goreng perkedel hingga kecoklatan. Tiriskan minyak nya dan siap disajikan!)
