Deep Fried Murtabak (Bilingual Eng-Indo)

This is one of my fave recipe for light evening snack. Thin pancakes filled with veggies and meat. Fold and fried until golden brown. Serve these yummy bites every special occasion too. Let’s make it now!

(Ini dia resep bikin Martabak telur goreng yang aku bikin dari kulitnya, tumisan sayur daging, plus digoreng hingga keemasan. Kulit Martabaknya lembut banget dan ringan jadi nggak bikin kenyang. Yuk, cobain sekarang!)

Deep Fried Murtabak

Ingredients:

– 1 cup of all purpose flour (124 grams)(tepung terigu)

– 1/2 cup of potato/ corn starch (62 grams) (tepung kanji)

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 1 large egg (telur ayam)

– 1 1/4 cup of water (295 ml) (air putih)

– 100 grams of beef/pork/ chicken (daging sapi/babi/ayam)

– 10 mushrooms (jamur champignon kalengan)

– 1 onion (bawang bombay)

– 3 cloves of garlic (bawang putih)

– 2 medium carrots (wortel ukuran sedang)

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 3 tablespoon of soy sauce (kecap asin)

– 1 tablespoon of sugar (gula pasir)

– 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper (merica bubuk)

– 1 egg white (putih telur)

Steps:

1. Cut the carrots, onion, garlic, mushroom and the meat onto super small dices.

(Potong-potong wortel, bawang bombay, jamur, dan daging hingga menjadi sangat kecil.)

2. In a frying pan, saute the garlic and onion until golden brown and soft. Then, put in the meat, carrots, and mushrooms.

(Tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay hingga lembut dan keemasan. Masukkan daging, wortel, dan jamur.)

3. Season with soy sauce, salt, pepper and sugar. Mix well until soft.

(Bumbui dengan kecap asin, garam, merica bubuk dan gula. Masak hingga lembut.)

4. Make the pancakes by mixing flour, potato/ corn starch, salt, egg, and water.

(Buat lembaran martabak dengan mencampurkan tepung terigu, kanji, garam, telur dan air.)

 5. In a hot non stick pan, pour one ladle of batter and quickly tilt the pan to make wide thin pancake.

(Pada sebuah teflon panas, tuang 1 sendok sup adonan dan segera ayun teflon hingga adonan melebar membentuk pancake tipis lebar.)

6. After 15 seconds peel the pancake off the pan and put it in a clen kitchen towel, cover it with another clean towel.

(Setelah 15 detik, angkat lembaran pancake dari teflon dan letakkan pada lap bersih dan tutup dengan lap bersih lainnya.)

7. Continue making the pancakes until all off the batter done.

(Lanjutkan membuat lembar pancake hingga adonan habis.)

8. Prepare one sheet of pancake and fill it with 2 tablespoon of veggies and meat.

(Siapkan satu lembar pancake dan isi dengan 2 sendok makan tumis sayur daging.)

9. Fold the pancake close onto envelope and seal the outer side with egg white.

(Lipat pancake hingga membentuk amplop tertutup dan olesi bagian luarnya dengan putih telur, rapatkan hingga sempurna.)

 10. Fry the murtabak in a hot oil until golden brown. Put it in paper towel/ shieve then serve warm.

(Goreng martabak dengan minyak panas hingga keemasan. Tiriskan dan sajikan hangat.)
