Calamari Rings (Bilingual-Eng-Indo)

Most complain I heard about making your own calamari rings at home was the batter won’t stick well on the squid. Then, try me recipe, it’s easy and mostly nice fool proof. Well, I made 2 version of rings here, one coated with bread crumb and one with out. Have a try then!

 (Teman-teman ini aku share resep Calamari Rings atau cumi goreng tepung yang mudah, pasti enak dan cantik hasilnya. Bisa disajikan untuk makan siang atau malam romantis juga. Yuk, bikin!)

Calamari Rings

Ingredients:

– 1 cup of all purpose flour (124 grams) (tepung terigu)

– 1 cup of cold water (236 ml) (air dingin)

– 1 teaspoon of salt (garam)

– 1 teaspoon of pepper (merica bubuk)

– 1/4 cup of all purpose flour (extra for coating) (31 grams) (tepung terigu untuk melapisi cumi)

– 1/2 cup of bread crumb (60 grams) (tepung panir/ tepung roti)

– oil for frying (minyak untuk menggoreng)

 Steps:

1. Wash and clean the outer and inner part of the squid gently using knife, scrap the sticky soft thin skin out. Be careful not to tear the skin when scrapping.

(Cuci bersih dan bersihkan bagian luar dan dalam cumi-cumi dengan menggunakan pisau, kerik bagian kulit ari/ kulit tipis yang melapisi cumi dengan hati hati, jangan merobek cumi.)

2. Cut the squid to 1 cm wide each.

(Potong cumi dengan lebar masing-masing 1 cm.)

3. Mix together 1 cup of flour, salt, pepper, and cold water. Then place the batter in a plate. Take another plate and put in 1/4 cup of flour.

(Campurkan 124 gram tepung terigu dengan garam, merica bubuk dan air dingin. Tuang kedalam sebuah piring. Siapkan piring lainnya dan isi dengan 31 gram tepung terigu.)

 4. Preheat your frying pan in medium with lot of oil enough to deep fry the calamari rings. Wait until the oil is hot enough to fry.

(Panaskan penggorengan yang diisi minyak yang cukup banyak untuk menggoreng cumi. Tunggu hingga minyak cukup panas untuk menggoreng.)

 5. Dredge the squid on the dry all purpose flour. Then, dip in into the batter and drip the excess batter. For ones with bread crumb: after dipping the squid into the batter, directly dredge it

(Baluri potongan cumi dengan tepung terigu kering, dan celupkan di adonan cair, teteskan adonan yang berlebih pada cumi. Untuk cumi goreng tepung roti: setelah mencelupkan cumi di adonan cair, teteskan sisanya dan lemuri cumi dengan tepung panir/ roti.)

 6. Fry the squid right away until golden brown. Then, take them out of the pan and drain the excess oil.

(Goreng segera cumi tepung hingga kuning keemasan. Angkat dan tiriskan)

 7. Serve warm with your fave carbs.

(Sajikan hangat dengan menu utama pilihanmu.)
